What is that best site where I can look up what certain types of gemstones and jewelry are worth?

I am a gem collector and while I do go to my jeweler regularly, I doesn't make sense for me to call him up or see him every time I see something I may want to purchase and decide if it's worth the money or figure out it's rarity and origin (like here it's mined and so forth)
